Another timeless recording of David Walsh and his authentic 1960's guitar style. Putting out a single this time, Side A and Side B. Without having to put a coin into the jukebox. Have these 2 songs for free to celebrate this time of year.
Recorded during a week stay inside a 100 year old church by the Macleay River on the mid North Coast, NSW, Australia. After losing our beloved Sandra months ago, we needed some time away as a family to heal. We were thankful for our dear friends who lent us this wonderful old converted church as a space & although it hasn't been active for decades, proved to be a cathartic and healing experience. It wasn't the intention to record there, but as we unwound day by day and as the river rolled by these songs evolved. Music and art are great healers and always make us feel closer to Sandra.
Enjoy these tunes over the New Year and hold your loved ones close.

Fender Custom "Stratocaster" and Indian made hollow body "Crown Special" were the two guitars used on the recording
played through a British made Orange valve head.
A very vintage sounding Mellotron plugin added Beatles-esque/King Crimson inspired 60's sound to 'South West Rock'
Some of the drums were converted groceries as we did not take any percussion on holiday. The snare on 'Rivertown' was a bag of coffee beans atop a cardboard box and the toms were empty plastic water containers.
A child's tamborine was heavily featured after we found it in a antique store in the nearby town of Gladstone. It was the only actual percussion we had...
Additional drum kit and bass were added later in Byron Bay but the 'groceries' stayed!
Mixed and mastered at Groovelands by Benjamin Walsh
Special thanks to Simon & the Durrington family for their generocity in kindly allowing us to stay in that beautiful location.
